Gardening at Young House

AYSA has done major upgrades to Young House this year to make way for better disability access, Kiri our resident youth worker and horticulturalist has also been working turning our whole site into an edible food garden. Department of Communities Housing has contributed $84,836.54 to new Disability access point, improvements to the building, landscaping and improved access around the building. Lotterywest has contribute $45,454.28 to upgrades of cabinetry, furniture and flooring and other equipment. Lotterywest also funded bikes for residents and staff to use for transport around Albany.

This has allowed us to improve our site for young people and staff. This year we are hoping that our kitchen garden program will see wonderful produce being grown, harvested and cooked on site with our residents and staff.
