Within a safe and supportive environment, Reconnect supports young people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness to reconcile with their families where the possibility of this exists. Where reconciliation is not possible, Reconnect will support the young person in exploring other safe and reasonable options.
This early intervention program for young people aged 12 to 18 years helps to build bridges and foster new ties between young people and their families. It also strengthens their connections with the community, and improves their engagement with education, training and employment.
Through Reconnect, our outreach youth workers provide mentoring, advocacy, case management, family mediation, other practical supports as required such as access to food and laundry facilities when needed, referrals to specialist services such as family counselling and accommodation options..
The service is available to young people in Albany, Denmark and Mt Barker.
Who it’s for?
Young people aged 12 to 18 years who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, and their families.
